"And, you know, the thing about a shark... he's got lifeless eyes. Black eyes. Like a doll's eyes. When he comes at ya, doesn't seem to be living... until he bites ya, and those black eyes roll over white and then... ah then you hear that terrible high-pitched screamin'."

Emancipation Day

Happy Emancipation Day, celebrating the "Emancipated Compensation Act" of 1862, which freed all enslaved persons of DC. Issued nine months before the Emancipation Proclamation, it made DC the "first freed" by the Federal government.

In honor is a little comic. I'm not apologizing, but I will say that it's basically the comic equivalent of "doing it in one take." I opted for timeliness over refinement, though. It's also supposed to be viewed as one long strip, but to upload it in a legible size I had to split it up into 3 pages.

But hey, we all make compromises, I guess.
