Coffee Shop Bird

I drew this bird in the coffee shop the other evening. Too late for Halloween, not really appropriate for Thanksgiving or Christmas. Plus, it sort of looks like it has breasts.

Halloween #1

Something about autumn that gets me to thinking about ... warts? A sketch I did in the coffee shop, of a character that I've been playing around with. He seemed appropriate to the season ...

Washington City Paper highlights "District Comics"

Last November, I contributed a story to an anthology that Matt Dembicki was putting together, called "District Comics," highlighting true but lesser known stories from Washington, DC history. Less than a year later, "District Comics" is now the cover story for the Washington City Paper. In addition to the book's write-up, two stories are reprinted in full: mine (that's my art on the cover), and that of Troy-Jeffry Allen and Jeff McComsey. You can read the digital version by clicking here.

Panel Patter's "SPX Spotlight"

Panel Patter is currently doing a series called "SPX SPotlights," highlighting the work of some of the artists you can find at the Small Press Expo on September 15-16. Currently, there's one on my comics, which you can read here

Snowmen

I was going to wait until we got some snow to post this one, but it's been a pretty dry winter and now March is here, with a bright sun and 60 degree temps. I'm not holding much hope for any last gasps of winter, but, we've been surprised before, so who knows. Until then, I'll pretend like this has an ironic appeal for a hot March day.

Super Bowl Bird

Color this guy blue with an orange breast to make him a Bluebird, the state bird of New York.

Color him yellow with black wings to make him an Eastern Goldfinch, in honor of East Rutherford, New Jersey - home of the Giants.

Make him black and white with a mist of orange under the wing and he can round out his duties as the Black-Capped Chickadee, state bird of Massachusetts.

New Years Day - Dr. W Edition

I worked on this one in the coffee shop this afternoon.

It's still the first of the month, so it doesn't seem out of place to still be including New Years comics. Plus, this one seemed more appropriate for the day after the New Years Eve bashes
